About

I am studying Mechatronics Engineering at Tor Vergata, after a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I work in MATLAB, Simulink and Simscape Electrical, and my strongest ground is power electronics: modelling a converter, validating it across its operating range, and understanding what the results actually mean.

What I have learned about myself is how I work when something breaks. On the inverter project the design passed at the easy resistive load and failed at the inductive one. I traced it to the output filter resonating against the load, fixed it with damping, and measured what the fix cost elsewhere. That sequence, finding the cause rather than the symptom and then being straight about the trade, is the part I would want to be judged on.

The projects here are written the same way: what I did, what a teammate did, what the numbers show and where they stop. I would rather hand you something you can check than something you have to take on trust.

Before university I spent nearly three years on a gas-pipeline construction site interpreting between vendor engineers and the crews, and later annotated autonomous-driving imagery, which is where the computer-vision interest started. I am looking for a six to twelve month internship from October 2026 where I can work on real systems alongside engineers with more experience than I have, and be useful while I learn.

Selected projects

Five projects. Each one opens with the result, then the method, the figures and the limits.

01 Power electronics · Simulation only

3 kVA Single-Phase H-Bridge Inverter

400 V DC to 230 V RMS with unipolar SPWM, validated across a five-case matrix: three power factors and two step transients. The inductive case failed the specification, and fixing it is the part worth reading.

1.64 %output THD at full load, unity PF, against a below-3 % requirement

Fire and Smoke Semantic Segmentation

A DeepLabv3+ network against a hand-crafted colour baseline, measured on identical data with an identical metric. I also found a faulty ground-truth label worth 4.48 points of the test mean and kept it in the results.

0.8507 against 0.4421mean test F-measure, network against classical baseline

RoboLatte, UR5e Dynamic Simulation

The same beverage task modelled two ways, CAD dynamic simulation against analytical inverse dynamics, then compared joint by joint. Includes a 65-second simulation video.

5 of 6 joints inside the barmatching sign and order of magnitude; Joint 3 falls outside it and Joint 2 is marginal

V2V-Inspired Eco-Driving Energy Analysis

Does an anticipating speed profile actually cut traction energy on the same urban route? Answered with a longitudinal road-load model, built twice so the two implementations could be checked against each other.

9.7 %traction-energy saving, 881.5 kJ down to 795.6 kJ

Remotely Controlled Robotic Manipulator

BSc senior design, and the only physical hardware here. A commercial 4-axis arm integrated onto a self-built 4WD platform, driven by joystick over a 2.4 GHz link, with a 3D-printed gripper.

Four-person teamcontributor, no individual task split was recorded

Data Annotation Specialist

ALLSTARSIT
  • Annotated autonomous-driving imagery using a proprietary Linux-based annotation tool, covering 2D and 3D tasks for vehicles, pedestrians, traffic lights and road markings.
  • Worked to predefined annotation policies with QA and team-lead review workflows for supervised perception datasets.
  • Where my interest in computer vision started, and directly connected to the segmentation project above.
Jul 2017 to Oct 2018Gardabani, Georgia · on-site

Warehouse Data Entry Clerk

Bechtel-Enka Joint Venture · South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion
  • Kept materials and component records for the same project, following the installation support role. Two years and nine months on site across both roles.
  • Coordinated materials through a BP shutdown, working to a Bechtel representative on site.
Feb 2016 to Jul 2017Gardabani, Georgia · on-site

Mechanical Installation Support Technician and Interpreter

Bechtel-Enka Joint Venture · South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion
  • Interpreted between international vendor teams, including Siemens, Solar Turbines and Ingersoll Rand, and ENKA teams on the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion project.
  • Followed technical drawings and schematics closely enough to convey vendor explanations accurately, without holding drawing responsibility.
  • Assisted with hands on mechanical installation work such as bolting.
  • My first work experience. It built responsibility, clear communication in a technical environment and practical teamwork.
